Overcoming fear – getting started on Substack

Taking a leap of faith

With a week of channelling the Aries New Moon, energising me forward to share my first post on Substack at last, I finally put words on paper, or onto screen. Although never quite sounds the same.

Last year was a time of hibernating down, getting through all the challenges that just seem to keep coming.

With the spring, the new growth all around me I feel inspired to come out of hibernation in so many ways. The fear and self-doubt still hang in the air, but it is time to step forward with little jumps as if across the stepping stones of a flowing river. The current will keep flowing but it is time to take little leaps.

Showing up for myself has never come easy, being gentle with myself has been a challenge. Entering a new decade last year changed something in me. Going through a major op made me realise even more. It is time, it is now or never. It is too easy to keep talking myself out of things.

So, I turn up here, unpolished and raw. Sharing my musings, my creations, my works in progresses creatively in art and in words.

Recently I have been immersing myself in the wonderful world of collage. A collage summit full of inspirational creatives and artists has opened up even more of a love for playing with papers and paint. Ripping up and creating with patterned papers and glue has been a love for such a long time through memory keeping, scrapbooking and card making. This summit has shown me all the collaging possibilities and the freedom to play with textures and colours.

Here are two creations from recent workshops from the summit.

Here’s to creating what feels right for us, without judgement and for the enjoyment of the process.
