Making a mixed media journal and trying out junk Journalling – Having some creative fun and trying something new
Trying something new I have been following so many great mixed media artists and junk journallers on YouTube this last year like Vicky Papaioannou, Tiffany Solario and MegJournals. It has inspired me to have a go. The thought of getting it wrong had been holding me back, but I soon learnt from other artists that the wonderful thing about mixed media art and junk journalling was that you can’t really get it wrong. the best bit was getting to try something new that was so much fun in the...
Memory keeping: Making it work for you
December Daily - a crafting tradition in it's own way Documenting December has been a yearly tradition since my daughter was born. I was inspired by Ali Edwards and her December Daily project. As my daughter turns 9 this year, it has been a big part of my creative life year after year and something I look forward to in December along with all the other seasonal traditions we have as a family. I love capturing the moments of the season and then memory keeping them, whilst getting...
She blinked and then we were in January 2025!
Wow where did a year go. 2024 has been a rollercoaster to say the least. It was throwing out curveballs left, right and centre. We got through it and although some of the challenges are still present, it feels the right time to refocus and reconnect with this space. Taking A step back In about May time I made the decision to take a step back from social media and my website. I felt the need to retreat inward and focus on the actions of creating for me. At times I couldn’t create space...
It’s okay to take baby steps
Taking baby steps I'm back. Little steps at a time. At the end of January I was hit hard by a chest infection which took me out of action for a couple of months. I lost my way a bit getting over it. Just getting through the daily grind of life was the priority and anything extra felt too much. Then life seemed to keep firing at me in all directions and I withdrew. I am learning this tends to be my default if things get tough. I am realising that I find it easier to keep showing up for others...
New Year, New Word
'Starting the new year with a word It has become a new year habit for me to choose a new word that I explore and hold close to me throughout the year. In the past this has included create and believe. Last year I carried with me open. Although at times I felt I had not really connected with this word, when reflecting back over my year, it was more powerful in my life than I had realised. So what does this year hold? That's something none of us can ever know and as I let go of trying to control...
Never too late
Looking back Recently i have found myself focused on finishing up projects that were half done or I had just begun. I had started a project called 'Story of Self' which I will share more of in a later post and also returned to my photos I took for recording a day in a life. This is a project inspired by and originally created by Ali Edwards, one of my scrapbook and storytelling heroes. The photos were taken from a day in march 2020, the 5th to be exact. It just so happened that a couple of...

Creative time – making it Happen
Making time for creativity I've have been very quiet on here because the school summer holidays hit. We were lucky enough to have a week away in beautiful jersey seeing friends. it provided a much needed break and change of scenery. Since getting back, having a 6 year old around has been fun but also a lot of my 'grown up' creative time has been difficult to come by in the same way. But I have made it happen. Why? because I need it. Why I made time for my creativity? I needed to carve out...
Documenting a week in the life
Capturing the everyday moments At least a couple of times a year I undertake the Week in the Life project. This involves documenting and capturing our everyday life over one week. The project is inspired by Ali Edwards who originally created it and offers so much inspiration. There is also a great community of scrapbookers and memory keepers who come together to participate in the project at the same time. Most recently we came together to document a week in June between Monday 20th through to...
Using July’s CKC kit
Challenge One done In my previous post I shared the exciting opportunity I had to be guest designer for the Counterfeit Kit challenge (CKC) community. Finally I am sharing my scrapbook layout I did for the first challenge. Each month the groups designers come up with several challenges to encourage us to get creative. As guest designer this month my creation (the layout below) can be found on their website which was very exciting. You can check it out here alongside other great layouts from...

A little about me…
I’m Clem. Welcome. I am a lover of crafts most especially scrapbooking and painting. I love creating and making a mess in my craft room. Another passion of mine is to explore new places and especially to get lost in nature. I am lucky to have lots on my doorstep in my home county of Shropshire, UK.
